Belated update, etc.
I've been doing a lot of nothing, except for reading, writing, and running around London since submitting my PhD thesis. I have a job interview today at a GP's office just a few rail stops from here (it's for a part-time receptionist post). Life is quieter than usual, broadly speaking, and I don't think that's a bad thing. I'm working on a short story and submitting lots of poetry (annoying, that when I'm neck-deep in prose these days, my poetry production goes down).

Further to Frankenstein at the National Theatre, there's a Q&A on Wednesday night with Danny Boyle, Nick Dear, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Jonny Lee Miller. I'll be reviewing that, too, seeing as I reviewed both versions of the play.

I hope your interview was successful. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you :)

You are going to the Frankenstein Q&A? Me too! I nearly had a seizure when I received the tickets because I was so convinced they would sell out. (I saw the play 2 weeks back, both the guys as both roles, and I honestly cannot find words how how superb I thought it was.)

Indeed :) I'm amazed that event didn't sell out, too; I think the late hour has something to do with it. I'll look forward to meeting you on Wednesday, if you're amenable!

That would be lovely :)

Okay, that was a cock-up: I realized only once I left work that I'd failed to get your mobile number, and by then I was trying to locate three different people and get them all to one location for pre-Q&A dinner and drinks. I had no idea how I would've gone about finding you once I got there. If you're generally speaking local, I'd love to meet up, still, for coffee or lunch or something!

Oh, that's quite all right. To be honest I assumed that you'd be meeting other people there anyway, I considered trying to contact you via Twitter but didn't know if you'd have access to it then, and it was quite late in the game anyway. I hope you had a wonderful evening though!

Unfortunately I live in Southampton...quite a way from London. However I hope we do get the chance to meet up soon either way (and I'm always looking for an excuse to visit London, so maybe if I come up for a day at some point we could tea or something?)

I was meeting coldlikedeath, gayalondiel, and morelindo - otherwise, I'd actually had no set plans, and meeting up with all three of them proved a little bit of a juggling act, but we all got there in the end! My phone only likes Twitter occasionally, and the other night wasn't one of those times :(

If you're ever heading to London, please do let me know! I'd love to meet you.
