Christmas in Boston with a detour to New York...
...has turned blizzard-tastic . With thunder and lightning!

We're heading back to Boston tomorrow, assuming the roads are clear enough. All I ask is that this doesn't mess up our chances of flying back home to London on the 29th. We've got tickets to this.

OMG! I forgot you were here. Welcome to winter in the North Atlantic. Sometimes we get snow.

Don't worry - you'll be able to fly out by the 29th. The worst I've ever seen it, the airports were closed for 2 days - but we had 4 feet of snow. This is going to be half that at the worst.

I grew up in Pennsylvania, so, yes, I distantly recall what it's like. I'm never happy to be back in the middle of it; all the snow in London a couple of weeks ago made me grump, too. It had better all be gone by the time I fly back on Wednesday! Snow on both sides of the Atlantic? Bah! Unheard of!

Oh the roads in PA can get really bad! Stay safe, hon.

Fortunately, we didn't go anywhere near PA ;) I know how hairy it can get; I grew up there (western part, Jefferson County).

You might want to avoid I95, if at all possible. I hear there's been an accident near Bridgeport, which may take some time to get cleaned up.

(As in, people are bunking down for the night, while to clean up.)

Oh, yikes. I think we were on I-95 for part of the trip down (earlier today, before the snow started), but I'll be sure to let the driver know.

I'd say double check traffic before you leave, and if you're not leaving until tomorrow, you might be good. Because really, the only other option might be going through Hartford, and cutting across through Springfield/Sturbridge area. Not sure how much better that would be.

But yeah, 95 seems to be a mess tonight. I suspect too many people tried to race the storm, and generally sort of failed.

(Accident was apparently headed SB anyway, so you might be clear.)

It was lovely seeing you! Enjoy Sherlock, you lot :)

My fingers are crossed for your safe and timely return!

We got back yesterday morning, safe and sound. And I crashed for 14 hours straight. Slept through New Year's!

Heathrow was, indeed, all cleaned up for our return yesterday.

Wow, that looks like a really interesting event! Would you review it after you've been? :) Hope your trip back goes to plan.

Due to the fact that we ended up returning a day later than originally planned, we missed the event! I'm completely bummed.

Oh yeah, 'cos you want to try out the Japanese rope bondage whilst skinny-dipping in the chocolate fountain :D

We had to miss the event, because we ended up flying back a day later than planned :(

I hope the weather tapers off before your flight back!

It did. However, we ended up flying back a day later than planned due to a weird flight-schedule change!
