Moving House & Upcoming Poetry Reading
I'd almost (willfully, on purpose) forgotten how chaotic this whole process is. I'm tempted to post photos, but I've just realized I don't know which box the camera is in! The fun (and last) part is going to be taking apart the fish tank tonight. We've bought a two-gallon bottle of water with a handle for the fish to ride in, and as for the tank, we've decided to get rid of it and invest in a nicer one (with a light, flip-top, built-in filter, etc.) once we're settled into the new flat.

The kuhli loaches are skittish; they know there's more activity than normal in the living room, and I'm pretty sure they know that their underwater home is next on the dismantling list. A friend of ours with a UK-valid driving license will be collecting us and all of our stuff in the morning. It's a four-hour drive to our new place in London.

Anyone wanting my new address can either access it in a locked post elsewhere (you know where), or drop me a private message. I'd rather that than plaster people with a mass email.

ETA: D'oh! I'm doing a reading with some other Flipped Eye authors at:

L'Osteria 57 Italian Restaurant
57 Grays Inn Road

Admission: FREE (suggested donation £3 upwards)

...on 1 December at 8:00 PM. It's a fundraiser for my publisher.

You're the second person I know moving this weekend! Good luck, and I hope it goes well!

Once you're ensconced in London we'll have to discuss writing and writing groups...

You just reminded me to update this entry with info re: a poetry reading I'm part of in London on 1 December! But, yes, we really must meet up and discuss those things, because I'm clueless when it comes to the more informal groups in London.

A good opportunity to see one of the least formal groups is on 2nd Dec when the 'Ton' meets - the London fannish circle, which traces its lineage back to the White Cross which was fictionalised as the White Heart by Arthur C Clarke.

It takes place the first thursday of the month, every month, in the basement at the Melton Mowbray pub near Chancery Lane tube station. I should be there form about 7:30pm.

I'll endeavor to make it. If I don't, you'll know I'm at home working on a freelance project that I've fallen behind on ;)

I hope the move goes well! And thanks for the address update--Christmas cards go out soon. ;)

Just dropping a note to say hullo, I've friended this journal. :)

Friended you back :) I admit I'm slightly quieter on this account at the moment, but I still do post here about RL stuff.
