After a boatload of fail, James finally managed to get his foot in the door and see a few places over the weekend. Most of them were, shall we say, the property equivalent of undead horrors. However, by some fluke he's got a first-dibs viewing on a two-bedroom place somewhere in Zone 2 or Zone 3 tomorrow, and then a viewing for a place in Lewisham later in the week if he doesn't like the one he sees tomorrow. I dislike the fact that I'm not there to see any of this.

Argh, it's immensely frustrating that you can't be there, but good luck to him at least. Hopefully one of the two upcoming places will be what you're looking for.

All the best Fingers crossed.

Argh, this all sounds so frustrating. I'm so sorry you're dealing with all this mess!

I wish James luck. I guess it is good that he has some guarenteed viewings. Might not get what you really want at this time, but I really hope you can arrange something that is suitable until you are both more settled and can really look for something better in the future.

Good luck! Hope he gets a place - rental hunting is horrible in big cities.

"Property equivalent of undead horrors" is, I guess, at least marginally better than being property *actually full* of undead horrors. Ie. the cockroaches of doom, the silverfish of hate....

I can only imagine how you feel, not being able to see the flats first hand. I hope that he does find a great place that you will both like. :)

Oh, good luck! I can understand being frustrated about not being able to see the flats, I'd be scared shitless if I had to do that. But at least James is seeing them, and it's not like you're buying.

Lewisham! Tell him to keep an eye out for Bastables. (Sorry, even when I'm in London I have a hard time thinking of its streets and neighborhoods in anything but literary terms.)
