It's that time of year again.
By which I mean, time to get up at 5:00 AM in order to catch a 6:25 AM train in order to get to Manchester Airport with a couple of hours to spare before our customary 9:55 AM British Airways flight to Chicago. Assuming Eyjafjallajökull wants us to, that is. Fascinating twist.

So, to all of you about to leave for Kalamazoo: save travels, and I'll see you on the other side! If you want my U.S. mobile number, just ask.

Safe travels, and may the volcano-luck be with you!

Safe travels! We got to take a ridiculous, three-and-a-half-hour detour on our flight out of London yesterday; I hope yours is more reasonable!

...that had better not happen to us, as our ride from Chicago to Kalamazoo is unable to wait for us much past about 1:30 PM (and we're due to fly into Chicago around 12:30 PM). Yikes.

Hey lady. I'm not going to make it to K'zoo this year, but a lot of my former cohort will be there, as well as Sarah and Meghan, who you've met before. Tell everyone i say hello, and i reserve the right to ring your US mobile number just to say hi to you and J. ;) Safe travels.

Adrienne, this is Julia Kirk from Wellesley, I don't know if you remember me? I wanted to chime in, I work as an Editorial Assistant for Wiley-Blackwell, and my coworker will be at Kalamazoo, unfortunately, I didn't learn we were going until last week, otherwise I'd be there! I have high hopes for next year though, so I'm jealous you'll be at the conference!

Of course I do! It's a shame you won't be there :( I'll keep an eye out for your employer's table.

I'll be there -- being grateful I get all my official duties out of the way on Thursday.
