I haven't been here in a while.
Over the weekend, Manpower found me a three-month temporary administrative gig. I start today. I'm not accustomed to being up this early, and I haven't really worked in a proper office since...well, since I was an undergraduate at Wellesley working in a couple of different research institutes attached to the college. I really hope I remember how to use some of the more obscure functions in Excel...

Oh, yeah: the Ph.D. final tweaks are done.

Bone-tired is a pretty good estimation of my present condition.

Congratulations on getting the few final tweaks done, and on finding a money-job for the short term :D So, when do you submit?

My intention to submit form, which went in a few weeks ago now, says 19 March. However, if Linne & Derek say it all looks fine on 26 February at my final supervision, I'm going to print and submit it that very afternoon.

Best of luck for the final supervision. *keeps fingers crossed for you*

Well done! On both the phd and the job.

As for Excel, conditional formating and pivot tables can make you look like a spreadsheet goddess when used properly. :)

Hmmm. I don't even know what either of those functions are.

Conditional formating does stuff like changing the colour of cells based on what's in them, or taking a load of cells and including coloured bars of different lengths depending on the number.

Pivot tables let you take a huge load of data and move it around so you can make sense of it all. You can shift rows and columns around so you break the data down by different things depending on what you're looking for.

Yay about the Ph.D. tweaking! \o/

And good luck with the job. Getting up at "normal" hours is such a weird feeling, though...

It's a full-time job, too - Monday through Friday, etc.

Congratulations! *\o/* On both counts.

Congratulations! I'm so happy for you.

Your story will be coming along soon. Thanks for your patience <3

And yay for a temp job!

...boo for Excel. I really loathe that program.

Yeah, I'm not fond of it, either.

I'm sorry, I'm so dead from work myself, but just wanted to say, jay for the job!

Rah rah Ph.D tweaks! That's fantastic! (And if Excel ever misbehaves, ask the Internet what to do. I'm as close to tech support as it gets in my office and, really, that's all the training I have. ;))

I shall be sure to do just that ;)

Oh, yeah: the Ph.D. final tweaks are done. Time to party...

...I'm too tired to party.

Congrats and congrats!
And good luck, of course. :)
