I should stop slacking, but I'm having way too much fun.
Seeing as today was a Bank Holiday, James didn't have to work - so we went into the city centre and picked up Contact and The Dark Knight at Borders because they were dead cheap. Sadly, they didn't have Star Trek: TOS Season 1 on DVD; it was, predictably, out of stock. I'm beginning to suspect that I won't be able to wait for LoveFilm to deliver it one painful disc at a time...

I'm going back to London Friday and Saturday, only this time, James is coming with me. We have opening-night tickets to see Kenneth Branagh's production of Hamlet (starring Jude Law) at Wyndhams Theatre.

I'm so excited.

The Joide Foster Contact? That's a great movie I haven't heard of in a while. ;)

Hamlet sounds absolutely amazing! I know you'll enjoy it!!

Yep, that one! I'm very fond of it.

Wait. WHAT? Branagh + Hamlet + Jude Law????

...yeah. It had better be brilliant, or else.

Eee! I'm planning on queuing for the Donmar Hamlet at some point this summer, so I'll be excited to hear what you think of it!

I plan to review it in exquisite detail ;) Opening night is Friday night. I've never had opening-night tickets to something (hopefully) this awesome before :)

Be sure to name-drop all the famous people you'll be schmoozing with. ;)

Heh, if-only. They'll all be down front, I imagine. While fairly close, I am not, in fact, the whole way down front.

*hugs* I'm sure you'll manage it! You always do seem to get around when you're determined enough.

(Without a husband with a full-time job, I wouldn't be seeing Tori this time around - so all thanks are due to James for not denying me this!)

Ooh, Hamlet! I'm jealous of anyone who gets to see potentially awesome live productions of it; I've only seen one live Hamlet, and it was *dreadful*.

I've been very lucky in the two previous productions I've seen; both were in 2005, one on each side of the pond, and they were fantastic. I'm going to hope third time's even more of a charm, in this case.

I'm seeing Hamlet on the 15th July. I'm quite nervous about it, because I find Branagh very hit and miss as a film director and an actor...I've never seen anything he's directed for the stage though and I think Jude could be brilliant as Hamlet, so, we'll see. You doing the seeing before me of course. :D

I find him hit and miss, too - although I think I'd rather him directing than acting, strangely :-P

(He was perfect for Gilderoy Lockhart, though. Perfect.)

Lucky with the Tori tickets! I think I'm going to have to give her a miss in Atlanta this year. :-\

Aw, that's a shame :( I haven't seen her since...hmmm, I think summer 2007 when she hit Manchester on the ADP tour.

Lucky you re: Tori! I never recieved my presale code. :(

Do you still need a code? Give me your email address. I ended up with two.
