Off to Manchester this evening, Chicago tomorrow.
Our flight tomorrow morning is so early that we've had to book overnight at a hostel (which I hope to God will have free wireless access). We arrive in Chicago around noon on Tuesday, and our train to Kalamazoo is the next day, sometime in late afternoon. ida_pea and sunqist, we're being hosted by our flatmate's sister at the seminary where she studies on the south side. I imagine we should have our stuff dumped off and settled by about 2 PM, so if you want to give me a ring somewhere around or after then, that would be great. I think our train to Kalamazoo is at one or two-ish on Wednesday. This is just to give you an idea of what kind of time-frame we're working with. I hope meeting up will be possible!

I take Pearl with me everywhere, so if anybody's in email contact with me, that will go on as normal. I've made a tradition of blogging the conference these past couple of years, so that will also continue. For anyone attending who'd like to phone me once we've touched down on the other side, my number is here. See the comment threads for emerging social plans, etc.

(I wish I didn't ache so badly, whether in mind or in body. Something's got to give.)

I'm assuming that you're referring to the Blackberry Pearl, and not the poem? :-)

Have fun at Kzoo! Wish I could be there this year...

Pearl is my iBook G4. She's very well traveled!

A comment that has nothing to do with anything you said, but...

You laptop is named Pearl ? How cute. :D

Yep! She's an iBook G4 12".

We are safely in Chicago! Wish you were here :)

Ooh--I'm looking forward to conference updates! I'm going to have to find out more information about these kind of things!

Enjoy the conference and have a safe trip! And feel better!

It's a five-day intellectualized boozer with academic paper sessions interspersed. Good times ;)

I work until 4 that day, but could meet up with you for dinner that evening. Your host will probably have some restaurant suggestions. Hyde Park is pretty far south of where Karen and I live (I think you guys stayed with her last year?) so a place in a more central location would be good, but just let me know what works best for you once you arrive.

Can't wait to see you :)
