It's sad that today hasn't taken me by surprise in years.

That is a pretty amusing one, though.

I thought so, too. One of the better ones I've seen in about the past 5 years or so!

Oh man, the last two paragraphs were the best.

Lol - shoulda have twigged the April Fool.

Mostly, I disaprove of this day, as it is all about practical jokes, which are usually just cruel. Sometimes it can be harmlessly amusing, though. LiveJournal has a history of getting it wrong, though.

A lot of April Fool's jokes are cruel; I agree. However, I'm still proud of the year I put salt in my sister's Coke. It got the most amusing reation of all the pranks I've ever pulled.

Well, if she's OK with that sort of thing, fair enough. I would feel sad about my coke, though, and not pleased with being made the but of a joke. The Guardian and YouTube jokes seem much more harmless and silly. But yeah, the important thing is to get your 'victim' right, so you're not just laughing at someone else's expense.

It was one of those "...this kind of tastes funny. Does this taste funny to you? *pause, I say no, straight-faced, after trying it* Because I swear this tastes funny...huh..." kind of situations.

I think the last time I woke up not realizing it was April 1st must have been 2003-ish.

Me neither. But still, rather amusing.

The one about Neil Gaiman on Tor.com is pretty funny, too.

Oh my god. I forgot what today was.
