(You are very much not forgotten)

...yeah. Because I had totally planned on starting off today with a trip to the hospital.
Last night, the lingering pain in the right side of my chest got a lot worse, i.e. I couldn't breathe in or move my right arm around or bend over or lie down without severe pain. It was no better when I woke up this morning, so James bundled me off to casualty down at York Hospital, and it turns out I've got inflammation in the cartilage across the right half of my ribcage. Yay? It has a long, official name I can't remember. I'm back on a strong painkiller and an anti-inflammatory to boot. At least I'll sleep well on the plane(s) tomorrow. In the meantime, I'm stoned out of my gourd.

Merry Christmas, all. Preferably without your own trip to the ER!

Thanks, dear! Merry Christmas!

arg, what a nightmare.

I hope you are ok during the travelling.

I should definitely be all right - the doctor at the hospital didn't seem to think it was anything that should keep me in bed. He said if I keep on the anti-inflammatory stuff for a couple days, it'll go away on its own. Yay! 4:30 AM it is, then?

Happy Christmas! I hope your turkey turns out all right.

cool - yup, i shall drop you a text about 4.20 or so when i set off from my place.

the turkey was swapped for turkey steaks, which were grilled, so it was ok, and i might even have found a replacement oven :D

Oh, grilled turkey is fab. I'm a big fan of turkey, as I grew up eating the freshly-killed wild variety during spring gobbler season.

(If I haven't given you my mobile number, it's 07999787738.)

ah, cool.

yup, my phone has a you in it :)

see you in 13 hours :P

Oh wow. *hugs* It's not anything dangerous though, is it?

No, it's not, thankfully. Just painful!

Merry Christmas!

*pets you gently*

Yay for stoned! :-O

Yep. It's better than hurting, that's for sure :)

Costochondritis can certainly be very painful, but it's not dangerous at all, rest assured! Keep on those meds and be well.

That was the word! Happy holidays to you, too.

Yikes! You seem to attract illnesses :/ Feel better soon! *hugs*

Thank you! Happy Holidays.

Yeah, they gave me ibuprofen. More mg than usual in these tabs *g*

Yeah, last night and this morning were really bad. In the weeks previous, it had been fairly mild; I just thought it was minor fallout from my getting/being sick.

I hope you'll feel better soon! Take care of yourself!

Don't worry, I will :) Happy Holidays!

Sorry to hear about your er trip but relieved to know it isn't pneumonia, which is what I first thought when I heard the symptoms.

I might've suspected that, too, as I've had a mild case of pneumonia in the past, but fortunately, it's not.

O: Well that's rather disconcerting. I hope your Christmas (if it continues today or tomorrow) goes better than your morning! Feel better.

I'll be on a plane tomorrow morning, hopefully sleeping *g* Thanks!

oh, that sounds horrendous! I am very glad to hear that you have pain meds to help, and that the diagnosis isn't scary. I hope you feel better very soon!

It's just very painful - fortunately not harmful otherwise! Don't worry :)

this is like the best worst christmas ever, from what i can tell.

Kind of true :) Hope yours is going happily, too!

OMG, that sucks :( Hope you'll get better soon :(

I'm sure it'll fade quickly enough. Thanks :)

Aww, that sucks. But it's not serious from what I've heard, so just gulp down them pain killers.

Merry Christmas! Sometimes, you need a little pinkprick to better appreciate all the good times :)
Hope it goes away fast :)

It reminded me a lot of Christmas about 5 years ago, when I woke up with a muscle in my back snagged over a bit of my shoulderblade and the resulting emergency chiropractic appointment that evening. Good times ;)

Oh dear. Sounds awful.

The ibuprofen has made a world of difference. It doesn't hurt to breathe or move my right arm around anymore :)

Ack! Still, better casualty on Christmas Day than New Years Eve. :/ Hope you are feeling better now.

True. I'll be home just in time for New Year's, thank goodness!
